Catholics from around the Archdiocese of Indianapolis will be on a pilgrimage to Rome from June 26 to July 1 to witness Archbishop Joseph W. Tobin receiving his pallium from Pope Francis during a June 29 Mass at St. Peter's Basilica.

A pallium is a circular band made from lamb’s wool that symbolizes an archbishop's role as not only the head of his archdiocese but also his communion with the pope.

The blog will follow the archdiocesan pilgrimage with photos and daily updates from John Shaughnessy, assistant editor of The Criterion (our newspaper) and Greg Otolski, associate publisher.
